Fine for Chinese football

The organizing committee of the East Asia Four-nation Football Tournament decided to give a fine of 10,000 US dollars on China for the team's ferocious play during the region's traditional event.

The team received nine yellow cards in the first two matches against South Korea and Japan, and received eight yellows and two reds in the last game against North Korea.

The event organizers fined China 4,500 US dollars after South Korea and Japan protested against the truculence of the Chinese team. But the penalty failed to cool down the hot-tempered Chinese players.

China finished third with two losses and one win in the week long tournament, which kicked off on February 17.
