Wade beats Bryant for another Skills Challenge win
(AP) Updated: 2007-02-18 11:18 LAS VEGAS - Dwyane Wade successfully defended
his title in the Skills Challenge of the NBA All-Star weekend on Saturday,
running the course flawlessly in 26.4 seconds to beat Kobe Bryant.
Wade and Bryant eliminated LeBron James and Chris Paul in the first round.
Wade, the 2006 NBA finals MVP, then was perfect in the final round _ and Bryant
was doomed when he needed five tries to make a simple chest pass through a hoop.
In the Skills Challenge, the stars must navigate an obstacle course with
agility drills, passing accuracy tests and a 3-pointer. Steve Nash set the
course record in 25.8 seconds in 2005, and Wade won the event last season in
Houston.
