LONDON, Jan 31 - Arsenal captain Thierry Henry could well be left on the bench for their League Cup final against Chelsea after the youngsters beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 on Wednesday to book their trip to Cardiff.

Arsenal needed extra time to complete a 5-3 aggregate win in their semi-final second leg at the Emirates, leaving manager Arsene Wenger with a selection headache over who to use in the final on Feb 25.

"I will try to find the right mixture between young and experienced players again," Wenger told a news conference, having used mainly second string sides in the competition.

"They played with mental strength, style, resilience and heart. They deserve to be involved in the final. Of course I will want to win, but I also want them to be there and some of them will play.

"Those who have not played until now will not play in the final."

Henry, the club's record goalscorer and their talismanic figure up front, has not played a League Cup game this season.

However, pressed on Henry's presence in Cardiff, Wenger did not completely rule him out of the squad, adding: "You have to wait and see if you have injured players or not."

As for Arsenal's next generation, he said: "It's fantastic to see that young players at such an age can cope with the pressure...They've shown they are highly motivated and that's very good news. I'm very proud of what they've achieved."

Togo's Emmanuel Adebayor, who opened the scoring on Wednesday, should start, along with Julio Baptista if the Brazilian striker who hit four against Liverpool in the last round and both goals at Spurs last week recovers from a groin injury.

Spurs manager Martin Jol, who said England winger Aaron Lennon had pulled out late due to illness, was frustrated that his side could not settle a score with Arsenal after losing 3-0 in the Premier League in December.

"It was close," he said. "Last year, we had a couple of draws against them but after the 3-0 last time at this stadium we really wanted to put things straight. And that is the disappointing thing. That we couldn't win."
