Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic
and Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets were selected as the NBA's top players
for the week ending November 26.
Howard earned the Eastern Conference award after averaging 18.5 points and a
league-best 14.3 rebounds per game in leading the Magic to three wins in four
games. He shot 53.1 percent from the field and posted double-doubles in four
contests last week.
Anthony averaged 31.3 points, 5.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game to
capture the Western Conference honor. He scored 30-plus points in three of
Denver's four wins and has now scored at least 30 points in nine of 12 games
this season.
Other nominees for the award included Cleveland's Drew Gooden and LeBron
James, Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, Detroit's Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince,
Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal, Milwaukee's Andrew Bogut, Minnesota's Kevin Garnett,
Sacramento's Kevin Martin and Toronto's T.J. Ford.
