Chinese Taipei set their target on 15 gold medals at the 15th Doha Asian Games, Csai Szu-Chuen, chef de mission of Chinese Taipei delegation, told Xinhua on Monday.

Chinese Taipei dispatched an ever strong delegation of 542 members for Doha 2006, consisting of 391 athletes and 151 coaches and officials according to Csai Szu-Chuen, who is also vice president of Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee.

"We are eyeing for no less than 15 gold medals at Doha Games, five more than what we won in Busan 2002 Games, but we will try to touch the level of 19 golds as we reached in 1998 Bangkok Asian Games, which is our best results ever in Asiad," said Csai.

Csai singled out their medal hopefuls: "we are going to put our foot on our traditionally favored disciplines like taekwondo, bowling, golf and billiards," said Csai.

"We hope to take the Doha Games as the very last chance for our setout for Beijing Olympic Games, so we value this Games much more than ever," said Csai.

"We are well prepared for Doha Games by taking systematic training for three months in Gaoxiong City, where share similar climate with Doha and we also sent our golfers and shooters here to participate test events of Doha Games," added Csai.

Chinese Taipei team applies result-oriented system of award-or- punishment. Those responsible will be ridded off their positions if the team fails to meet the pre-games target, Csai revealed.
