Klose voted German Player of Year by peers

BERLIN - German international forward Miroslav Klose has been voted German Player of the Year by his fellow professionals.

Werder Bremen striker Klose polled 64 percent of the votes way ahead of German international captain Michael Ballack who collected 4.5 percent.

Bremen midfielder Tim Borowski was third with 3.2 percent.

The 28-year-old Klose top scored in the Bundesliga last season with 25 goals and then won the World Cup golden boot after scoring five goals at the finals.
