Rossi wins MotoGP class of Malaysian Motorcycle GP

Seven times world champion Valentino Rossi won the MotoGP class of the 2006 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Sepang Circuit near here Sunday.

The 27-year-old Italian of Camel Yamaha Team clocked 43 minutes 07.829 seconds, leaving compatriot Loris Capirossi of Ducati Marlboro Team, 0.849s behind for the second place with 43:08.678s.

Spaniard Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda Team won the third place with 43:11.692s.

For the 250cc Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix title, Spain's Jorge Lorenzo outclassed his arch-rival, Andrea Dovizioso of Italy, and further consolidate his domination in the world standings.

The 19-year-old Lorenzo clocked 43 minutes 15.499 seconds for his seventh win of the season, while Davizioso came to the finishing line 5.428 seconds later.

Republic of San Marino's Alex de Angelis clinched the third position clocking 43:25.724s.

For the 125cc title, the Master-MVA Aspar Team rider, Alvaro Bautista, sealed his sixth championship title.

The 22-year-old Spaniard clocked 26 minutes 52.154 seconds to take a massive lead over last season's runner-up, Finland's Mika Kallio of Red Bull KTM GP 125, who was 3.577 seconds adrift. Bautista's team-mate, Hector Faubel, was in third position after clocking 27:02.058s.
