Slide: Miaofeng Mountain and Rose Valley

The Rose Valley is located at the foot of Miaofeng Mountain in Mengtougou district, Beijing. Miaofeng Mountain is known for its reputation as the "land of roses" in China, and the flowers here are recognized as "a wonder in North China."

The yearly yield amounts to tens of thousands of kilograms, and local farmers have to bring in migrant workers to harvest the roses in June. June is also the best time to visit the destination, no matter for flower lovers or shutterbugs. 

The annual Miaofeng Mountain rose festival unveiled last Sunday offers thousand-acre roses in full bloom. The festival will run for about half month depending on the weather condition. A variety of rose "Green" food is available at the festival, including rose jam and rose tea.

Visitors also get to savor the special cuisine -featuring a floral banquet - that uses rose petals at Jiangou county, nestled at the foot of the mountain.
