What does China-proposed Belt and Road initiative, or the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, mean to Indonesia?

China Daily Website had an exclusive interview with Indonesian Ambassador Soegeng Rahardjo on the opportunities this initiative will bring to both China and Indonesia.

As you are aware, the cultures of Indonesia and China have been linked for centuries through maritime Silk Road.

With the reviving of maritime Silk Road, there will be more interactions between Indonesians and Chinese people.

In turn, this would create greater cultural exchanges and better understanding between both countries.

I believe this ever will contribute strong foundations for two countries in order to create strong relations in the future.
