Yanqing's government launched the annual grape culture and tourism festival last weekend to attract more visitors to the suburban county, about 70 km north of downtown Beijing.
The festival will last for the grape harvest season - that is, until late October.
The hope is that tourists from the city's downtown will come to see the county's 890 hectares of grape plantations and 16,187 hectares of other fruit orchards during the upcoming Golden Week and other weekends.
Yanqing has many famous travel destinations, such as the Badaling Great Wall, Guyaju (ancient cliff house) and Yudu Mountain. Special activities will also take place at these locations during the national holiday.
