(China Daily)
Updated: 2009-06-22 09:24 Name: Diana Njeru Age: 32 Nationality: Kenyan Time spent in China: 15 years Why China? My family was posted to work in China for four years since 1994. At that time I also began my studies and have been in China ever since. Doing what? I am currently working at the International School of Beijing-Shunyi. I work in the admissions department as the assistant. Have been with the school for four years now. Language: English is my native language. I also speak Swahili and Chinese. My spoken Chinese, reading and writing is pretty good, I have not encountered any problems with the language, I can basically get around Beijing with no problems. I am thinking of taking up Spanish in the near future. Are you in a relationship? I am currently single. Food: I eat a lot at home, nice home cooked meals. There are huge choices of restaurants to eat from in Beijing but always eating out could make one lazy and not want to cook at home. I think eating out once in a while is great, but home-cooked meals are always the best. I am not too fond of seafood, spicy food, mushrooms, peanuts, eggs, certain vegetables Money: Yes, I am very happy with my job and income. Definitely I am much better off in China. I am quite satisfied with what I am getting as I don't think I would get similar opportunities back home. Future: It's hard to say. As of now I would like to go with the flow. |
