In April of last year, the State Council officially gave Chongqing in Southwest China approval to expand its service industry pilot sites, making the municipality one of only five cities in China and the only city in central or western China to do so.
In response, Chongqing has fulfilled its 86 service industry pilot site tasks, of which 69 have already been implemented. The municipality also took the initiative to formulate more than 40 types of differentiated reform practices, promoting the construction and operation of 356 modern industrial projects.
The pilot sites involve technologies, business, education, finance, healthcare, power supply and communication.
A slew of successful outcomes have been achieved during this process. For example, Chongqing has launched a new pilot site for the exhibition and trading of exported commodities. Guoyuan port and other bonded areas have also provided bonded warehouses for luxury auto brands such as Audi, Land Rover and Bentley.
Liangjiang New Area has accelerated steps to explore the technology sharing model and ranks highly in the national assessment of coordinated innovation among large, small and medium-sized enterprises.
UK trade commissioner for China praised Chongqing as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
