The Gaosuyun (meaning "highway cloud" in Chinese) platform, built by the Chongqing branch of China Telecom Co and Chongqing Expressway Group Co, recently officially debuted in the Shuitu international data port (also known as the Liangjiang international cloud computing industrial park) based in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
As a crucial piece of infrastructure to promote Chongqing's traffic digitalization, the Gaosuyun project aims to improve the security of the regional highway network. Featuring advanced technologies, high levels of security and adaptability, the platform provides strong computing and storage resources, and boasts effective network switching capabilities.
The platform allows for the in-depth integration of big data, internet and artificial intelligence, and improves the public experience in terms of the safety and operation of the road network.
Traffic information will be updated in a more timely and targeted manner, and is able to offer big data analyses for rescue operations and highway management.
The Shuitu international data port is currently home to 10 data centers owned by Tencent, China Unicom, China Telecom, and other telecommunication giants, as well as more than 20 cloud platforms covering government services, videos, finance, industries, e-commerce, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The port also operates more than 99 percent of non-confidential government service information systems.
UK trade commissioner for China praised Chongqing as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
