A joint innovation center was launched in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, on Dec 6. The center will provide training, research, sci-tech achievement commercialization, a sharing platform and business incubation services for university research institutions and companies.
The Chongqing Liangjiang Coordinative Zone, home to the center, aims to attract innovation resources with its superior services.
The first floor of the center is a service hall, offering services related to company registration, legal consultation, land use coordination, and employee accommodation.
The center also has a one-stop service platform, intellectual property service center and 10 technological innovation supporting funds to help companies and individuals apply for preferential policies, review professional titles, declare intellectual property and protect rights, consult about quality control management, build and manage labs, and apply loans for technological innovation.
Since the beginning of the year, the coordinative zone has attracted 10 R&D institutions and 1,500 innovation talents, including 14 academicians and more than 500 doctorate holders.
In addition, 40 universities and research institutions are contributing to Chongqing's high-quality development through cooperation with enterprises.
Currently, Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Chongqing research institution is cooperating with Chongqing Machinery & Electronics Holding Co, Chongqing Airport Group Co and Changan Automobile, signing projects totaling 20 million yuan ($3.13 million) and involving advanced material R&D, mobile communication equipment R&D, automobile electronics and environmental monitoring technologies.
