The Lianglu Cuntan Comprehensive Bonded Zone (CBZ) located in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality has maintained double-digit growth in terms of major economic indicators and is expected to register more than 160 billion yuan ($25.12 billion) in total imports and exports by the end of this year – a new record high.
The zone now boasts 1.33 million cubic meters of international logistics storage bases, among the most in western China, and its cross-border transactions have already exceeded 6 billion yuan in value from January to October, ranking highly in Chongqing.
The 3.74-square-kilometer international trade logistical park in the zone has brought in 16 comprehensive logistics platforms, including Goodman and Alibaba Cainiao Network, and 76 overseas and domestic trade logistics enterprises. The park's cumulative economic contributions exceed 10 billion yuan.
A circular issued by the National Development and Reform Commission selected Chongqing as one of the first national airport-based logistics hubs for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and stated that CBZ will facilitate the high added-value logistics industry with better services by offering efficient supply chain logistics management, which will save a large amount in transport costs for high-end manufacturing firms and make Chongqing more attractive.
UK trade commissioner for China praised Chongqing as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
