Chongqing Liangjiang Yufu New City signed a cooperation contract with Yibin Sanjiang New District on Oct 12. The two sides pledged to build the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Demonstration Zone, which are an essential part of the integrated development of the two cities.

High-ranking officials from Liangjiang New Area, the Yibin government, and Yibin Sanjiang New District attended the signing ceremony.

Duan Chenggang, secretary of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Party Work Committee, expressed hope that the two sides will seize the opportunity to strengthen coordination in the industrial and port businesses and boost exchange in technological innovation and talent training.

According to the agreement, the two parties will construct a new energy auto industrial demonstration base, a sea transportation logistics center for businesses at the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and a series of platforms dealing with supply-and-demand coordination in the advanced manufacturing industrial chain, technological services, investment, and financing.

Guoyuan port is the largest inland river logistics port in China, while Yibin port is one of six pivotal ports in the Yangtze River basin. The two ports will strengthen collaboration and explore upstream and downstream markets together.
