During the first 11 months of this year, the electronic industry in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, achieved an output value of 165.6 billion yuan ($25.28 billion), a year-on-year increase of 13.6 percent.
Amid the novel coronavirus epidemic at the beginning of this year, Liangjiang launched supporting policies and services to help companies resume work and production.
In March, Liangjiang held an online promotion meeting to introduce its advantages in the electronic industry to more than 70 electronic enterprises and business associations from around the world.
BOE Technology Group Co, a leading electronic company in Liangjiang, turned the epidemic into an opportunity and developed products and solutions to address the increasing demand for remote office, education, shopping and medical services, as well as temperature monitoring, achieving rapid growth of businesses.
While increasing the electronic industry scale, Liangjiang is also optimizing the industrial structure to produce more high-end intelligent equipment.
Liangjiang is establishing high-standard industrial parks to boost the development of industrial design. So far, it has attracted 11 municipal-level industrial design centers, occupying 25 percent of the total number in Chongqing.
Liangjiang strives to attract new projects and companies to complete its electronic industry chain. BOE's new AMOLED screen manufacturing project is currently under construction in Liangjiang and has an investment of 46.5 billion yuan.
When put into operation, it will become the world's most advanced AMOLED production line.
BOE also launched its intelligent system innovation center in Liangjiang with an agreed investment of 5 billion yuan. It will gather upstream and downstream industries, related industrial resources, innovation resources and service resources to create an industrial symbiosis ecosystem.
UK trade commissioner for China praised Chongqing as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
