Chongqing General Hospital in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality received mutton donated by Mongolia on Dec 7. China's northern neighbor donated the meat as a sign of support for the country's fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.

The mutton was given to medical teams that assisted Central China's Hubei province in fighting against the novel coronavirus; 17 boxes of which were sent to 45 medics at Chongqing General Hospital.

Chongqing General Hospital's medics were delighted to receive the gifts and said they would share the mutton with friends and family members who supported them as they were on the frontline of the fight against the novel coronavirus.

Earlier this year, Chongqing sent 18 batches of 1,636 people to support the fight against the novel coronavirus in Hubei province, 834 people of which were sent to the province's capital city, Wuhan.

Chongqing's medical teams began to leave Hubei starting on March 18. Not a single team member from Chongqing was infected with the novel coronavirus – a statistic that highlights the groups' excellent work.
