Liangjiang New Area in Chongqing is the third national pilot zone for development and opening-up and the first of its kind in inland China.

The administrative committee has been trying to integrate green space alongside city development.

Since 2010, the new area has built 58 parks, including Zhaomushan Forest Park and Expo Garden.

As "Liangjiang" means "two rivers" in Chinese, the new area sits between the Yangtze River and Jialing River. The administrative committee is resorting to big data, cloud computing, the internet of things and the other frontier technologies developed by Liangjiang-based companies to further improve the area's living environment.
