Liangjiang New Area in Chongqing saw the signing of 42 projects worth over 16.14 million yuan ($2.31 billion) at the Chongqing International Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference on Nov 11.
The 42 projects feature 20 promising industries, including automobile, entertainment, electronic information, big data and the internet of things.
According to the area's bureau of investment and cooperation, Liangjiang is looking to thoroughly integrate big data, artificial intelligence and real economy.
The conference attracted 209 enterprises, 23 universities and eight research institutes from across China.
In addition to strong investment promotion, Liangjiang New Area also managed to sign 28 high-end talents, including two scholars from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
More than 1,300 high-end talents from 38 countries and regions attended the event in search of opportunities.

It is reported that Edvard Moser, the 2014 Nobel Prize winner in Physiology or Medicine, has reached a cooperation agreement with a local university.
