The Automotive Electronics Application Development Center of NXP Semiconductors began operating on Aug 15 in Liangjiang New Area.
The application center is the first of its kind in Chongqing, and will provide automotive electronic production application support and product development consulting services for the automobile industry in China.
It has already started key projects such as a security gateway, vehicle T-box, motor control, and a forward-looking system for intelligent driving since its registration in October 2017, all of which are advanced applications that suit the Chinese market.

As the world's largest automotive electronics and AI internet of things chip company, NXP aims to build a strong localized automotive electronic research team and cultivate its research and innovation abilities according to local industrial demand, said Ross McOuat, vice-president of NXP's marketing and distribution department.
Attracted by its business environment, industrial support and complete industrial chain, NXP decided on Liangjiang as the site for its development center, and hopes it will help Liangjiang achieve a breakthrough in the era of intelligent internet of things.
Liangjiang is currently fully promoting the development of the intelligent and new energy automobile industry to both improve the environment and meet customer demand for intelligent life, said Wu Cunrong, member of the Chongqing Standing Committee.

Liangjiang's electronics industry accounted for over 30 percent of its industrial output value during the first half of 2018, and has become the main force behind the growth of its industrial economy.
To strengthen the application of intelligent network technology, the construction of China's first demonstration area for testing intelligent network vehicles began at the beginning of this year and is expected to be finished by 2019, while other key companies, such as Alibaba and Baidu, will sign with the Chongqing Liangjiang Digital Economic Industrial Park.
Liangjiang plans to make full use of its strengths to develop clusters for the integrated circuit and power semiconductor industries. It also plans to launch storage chip projects in the future to help develop the integrated circuit industry.
