A forum on the construction of a special town for aviation industry and tourism was held in Liangjiang Aviation Industrial Park on Jan 19.

Experts in industries of general aviation, tourism and special town construction, investment institutions and experienced investors gathered in Liangjiang New Area to discuss topics including integrated development of general aviation industry and tourism industry and investment opportunities and challenges of general aviation tourism projects. Participants seek to explore new business models and provide scientific development outlook.

Gao Yuanyang, director of general aviation industry research center in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, briefed on the development status and future trend of general aviation and tourism industry.

He said that "the year of 2017 is the first year to carry out the country's new policy to promote the development of general aviation industry and usher in an era of general aviation development."

In 2016, Chongqing was listed as the only pilot city of general aviation industry chain by the National Development and Reform Commission. In 2017, it was listed among the first batch of 26 pilot zones of development of general aviation industry.

Currently, Liangjiang has formed a complete industry chain of general aviation. It has introduced nearly 20 projects, with a total investment of 30 billion yuan ($4.69 billion).

Chongqing Xingji General Aviation and Tourism Company signed agreements with more than 10 institutions including Yunnan Yanjin county, Yunnan Malong county and Sichuan Fanmei Aviation.

After six years' of development, Liangjiang has multiple industrial forms centered on aviation projects. There are aviation industry, airports, flight service stations, theme parks and real estate projects.
