Tang Zongwei, NPC deputy and deputy director of the Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, told the National People’s Congress that the Sino-German (Chongqing) Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park should be constructed in Liangjiang New Area.
During the fifth plenary session of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) which opened on March 5, Tang claimed that Liangjiang New Area has made great efforts to deepen its cooperation with Germany over the last year.
Trade between Chongqing and Germany has seen a big increase thanks to the opening of Yuxinou (Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe) International Railway. The railway linking Chongqing with German’s Duisburg ran 420 trains per day during 2016, improving transport options for domestic and German clients.

The park will take advantage of the Made in China 2025 strategy and German’s Industry 4.0 strategy to become a key area for intelligent manufacturing and technological innovation, boosting the development of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
Tang Zongwei also suggested that authorities approve the setting up of the Sino-German (Chongqing) Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park by reference to the Sino-German (Shenyang) Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Park, and support demonstrative projects establishing themselves in Liangjiang New Area, to promote the intelligent manufacturing industry in western regions.
