Employees from Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Internet Industrial Park travelled 1,000 kilometers to the mountain village of Keda on Jan 10, to hand out New Year gifts to poor children.

Earlier in December, staff members from Hopefor Camellia Oil, a tea oil producer, and government officials, visited students at Keda village’s Sand Beach Primary School and Chengxiang Primary School to take down their New Year wishes.

The gifts, including warm clothes, backpacks, and school supplies were handed out to almost 150 children.

Liu Chunyan, deputy Party secretary of Liangjiang New Area Internet Industrial Park, said, “It was very important for us to carry out this event in a face-to-face.”

Liu said the park will continue to do what it can to help poor children in the area, such as organizing a series of activities including a visit to the industrial park.

Peng Mingyue, director of Keda village’s education and management center, hoped that both sides could strengthen their long-term relationship to provide a better environment for the children of the mountain village.
