Inspur (Chongqing) Cloud Computing Center was officially unveiled to the public at a ceremony at Wudu Hotel in Chongqing on Nov 2.
The center is located in the city’s Shuitu High-tech Park, part of Liangjiang New Area, and covers more than 52,000 square meters. It is equipped with 6,500 equipment cabinets, capable of supporting the operation of 150,000 servers and making it the largest cloud computing center in Western China.
Sun Pishu, president of Inspur Group, delivered a speech at the ceremony, where he expressed his expectations for the center and for more cooperation with Chongqing.
“Chongqing plays a leading role in developing information-related industry in China. The construction of the center is a milestone for cooperation between both sides, and I hope to build an ecosystem in Chongqing to develop the cloud computing and big data industry,” he said.
An investment service agreement, signed between Inspur Group and Liangjiang New Area, outlines the construction of a big data industrial park, which authorities hope will lure more enterprises in the big data chain to Chongqing. A training base will also be built to cultivate skilled workers in cloud computing, software development and other fields.
Also Inspur Group signed strategic cooperation agreements with Guangdong Electric Power Group (Chongqing), Chongqing Energy Group and Chongqing Iron and Steel Company to boost enterprise information-based construction.
Inspur Group is a leading supplier of computing platforms and IT solutions in China and conducts business in more than 100 countries and regions.
