Around 115,000 visitors from home and abroad visited the Chongqing Garden Expo Park during the seven-day National Day holiday (Oct 1-Oct 7), generating tourism revenue of two million yuan ($300,000), according to statistics provided by an administrative officer at the attraction on Oct 8.
Activities including an ice sculpture exhibition, singing and dancing, and open-air concerts featuring rock bands, were designed to attract tourists from all over the world. The ice sculpture exhibition created an icy fairy tale world for visitors to experience a different and dreamlike winter view during Chongqing’s autumn days.
In order to allow more people enjoy the holiday, the park also provided visitors with services such as scanning a QR code to print photographs for free, and the chance to obtain entrance tickets at reduced prices.
Staff members from its administration center stayed on-duty at various service spots across the park, providing information to visitors and free medical assistance to anyone who needed it.
Chongqing Garden Expo Park covers an area of 3,300 mu (220 hectare), with views of nearby mountains, lakes, and gorges. The expo park boasts various miniature gardens that mimic 80 domestic cities and 30 overseas cities. The park aims to develop into a large eco-center, integrated with natural scenery and a cultural focus.
