The Chongqing Big Data Innovation Alliance was officially established on Tuesday. The alliance aims to promote the big data industry by carrying out research and innovation activities.

Chongqing Association for Science and Technology paved the way for the establishment of the alliance, which has so far added more than 50 universities and institutions as its members. These include the Chongqing Economic Information Center, Chongqing University and Cloud Computing Center Chinese Academy of Sciences. Overseas returned talents with skills in data collection and data visualization have also joined the alliance.

According to a senior member, the alliance will also construct a public technology innovation platform to share big data industry information.
