The National Robotics Chongqing Review Center will begin operation in June 2017, Chongqing Daily reported.

The center is headquartered in Shanghai Municipality. It has three branches in Chongqing, Guangzhou and Shenyang.

It is a key institution furthering the strategy of “Made in China 2025” under the guidance of the National Reform and Development Commission.

The Chongqing branch began construction in June 2015 and by June 2017 will have five laboratories, 28 detection rooms and over 200 standards.

So far, the review center has compiled three standards for UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) and several standards for industrial and services robots. It has offered review services for over 20 robot manufacturers such as Chang’an and Huashu Robots.

Domestic robots are inferior compared with imported ones in reliability and stability. The latter take about 90 percent of the domestic market share.

The review center will benefit domestic robots through enhancing manufacturing skills and core competitiveness.
