A man was detained after being accused of stealing 15,000 yuan from a friend by taking his mobile phone's SIM card.

The suspect, surnamed Liu, discovered his friend's phone was storing more than 30,000 yuan. Liu took the phone card and used an app to transfer half of the money to his own bank account.

Police arrested Liu on Feb 3.
