Three Chongqing innovation centers were recently recognized as national innovation initiatives by the National Development and Reform Commission, Chongqing Daily reported.

With the three newly added research centers, Chongqing now boasts 22 National-Local Joint Research Centers.

Approval as a National-Local Joint Research Center is an important step in integrating national and provincial resources on projects research.

The research centers are expected to play an important role in improving the country’s national innovation system.
