Japanese Consul-General in Chongqing visits Liangjiang New Area

Tang Zongwei, deputy director of the Chongqing Administration Committee, met with Tomita Masakiro, Consul-General in Chongqing, on Jan 18, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.

Tang noted that Liangjiang New Area has advantages in automobile and information technology and high-end equipment manufacturing while Japan has numerous established companies in these fields. Thus the two parties share a broad cooperative perspective.

He also noted that Liangjiang New Area has cooperated with Japanese companies in finance and logistics. Liangjiang New Area will work on strategic emerging industries such as new energy automobiles and robots where Japan excels in technology.

Tang hoped the two will enhance cooperation and exchanges to promote the China-Japan Industrial Park which has attracted famous Japanese companies such as Hitachi Automotive and Kawasaki Robot.

Tomita Masakiro noted that there are 140 Japanese companies in Chongqing, with two just settled last year. He thanked the Chongqing Municipal Government for its efforts and the Administrative Committee of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area.

He also hoped more Japanese companies might settle down in Liangjiang New Area and he welcomed Chinese companies going to Japan to develop businesses.
