Liangjiang's Jiangbei area achieved a 10.50 percent regional gross domestic product (GDP) growth in 2014, according to the 10th plenary session held in the Liangjiang New Area of Chongqing on Feb 2.

According to He Gui, director of the Jiangbei area, the region’s total output value reached 60.45 billion yuan ($9.67 billion), seeing an increase of 10.50 percent; its scalable industrial output value reached 69.37 billion yuan, an increase of 11.30 percent; the social consumable total retail sales reached 41.02 billion yuan, an increase of 11 percent; total sales of commodities reached 355.15 billion yuan, an increase of 13.5 percent and its fixed asset investments reached 46.83 billion yuan, an increase of 12.60 percent.

At the same time, Jiangbei accelerated its new urbanization construction projects. It takes the lead in city environmental regulation and carrying out the garbage classification pilot project, thus strengthening the environment protection.

Looking ahead in 2015, Jiangbei will continue to develop its manufacturing industry, modern service industry and scientific finance center construction.

Apart from that, Jiangbei will also put the focus on the area’s landscape design to construct a more beautiful Jiangbei.
