According to official statistics published by the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area government, from January to September, Liangjiang New Area realized a total industrial output of 312.48 billion yuan ($50.97 billion), a year-on-year increase of 26.9 percent, making up 40 percent of the total industrial output in Chongqing.

Liangjiang New Area has three pillar industries, automobiles, electronics and equipment manufacturing, that drive industrial growth.

The automobile industry in Liangjiang New Area achieved 154.10 billion yuan of output between January and September, a year-on-year increase of 27.3 percent.
