A Sichuan township thinks French

Bailu, a township severely damaged by the 8.0 earthquake that struck Sichuan province on May 12, 2008, is at work building itself into a tourism destination with a French touch, 100 years after a French missionary built a French-style Catholic church in the town.

French-style street in Bailu to open May 12

A European-style tourism street will open May 12 in Bailu town in the county-level city of Pengzhou in Sichuan province. French-style architecture will be part of the new, heavily landscaped area.
