JD.com continues partnership with Honor
JD.com and Honor recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement to strengthen ties in marketing and sales, E-town Newsletter reported on March 24.
According to the agreement, a total of 12 million Honor cell phones will be for sale on JD.com in 2017.
JD.com launched a special event to mark the signing ceremony with the online platform having exclusive access to Honor V9 (4+64G version). The volume of sales exceeded an astonishing 10 million yuan ($1.45 million) in 16 seconds and reached 100 million yuan in around 30 minutes.
Honor is a prominent Chinese cell phone brand owned by Huawei, a multinational networking and telecommunications equipment and services company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong.
JD.com is Honor's first e-commerce platform partner. The two parties reached a strategic cooperation agreement worth 10 billion yuan in 2015 and further agreement worth 18 billion yuan in 2016. The deals are expected to boost cooperation in cell phone sales and marketing.
