Environmental protection bureau offers business on-site service
China launched new environmental protection and air and water pollution prevention and treatment laws and regulations earlier this year. The environment protection bureau of the Beijing Economical and Technological Development Area (also known as E-town) offered policy training at BOE to explain how enterprises should actively respond to those legal requirements. BOE’s safety and environmental protection, dynamic technology and water and electrical facility management personnel attended the training.
BOE first described its own low-carbon and environmental protection work and then officials from the environmental protection bureau illustrated recent new laws and regulations by using specific cases. The officials urged all personnel to live up to their responsibilities to create a nice environment. They reviewed the macroscopic environment situation and work philosophy during the 2016-2020 period and offered guidance and suggestions on BOE’s work. The company has made significant achievements in pollutant control and emergency rescue capacity development under the guidance of E-town’s environmental protection authority. It took the initiative this time to invite officials to give lectures on new laws and aimed to better formulate work goals, upgrade its environmental protection management capacity and boost relevant work.
Officials from the environment protection authority said that they will offer similar on-site services to enterprises when asked so new policies can be better understood. In addition, the authority will step up publicity efforts this year to urge businesses to live up to their responsibilities, upgrade environmental management, and continuously improve the environment. The ultimate goal is to have businesses voluntarily abide by relevant laws in the future.
On the day of the training BOE also delivered a banner to personnel from the environmental protection authority and praised their strict work style and efficient service. The company expressed its gratitude for the authority’s long-term guidance and assistance.
