JD fashion show amazes New York
JD.com, a giant Internet company in E-town, held a “Fashion Light” show at PIER59 STUDIOS in New York, and launched its fashion hall in the US.
JD’s designer talent plan was widely welcomed across the world. JD is seeking to develop its fashion industry in a more professional and international way.
“Fashion Light” aims to help excellent fashion designers get the spotlight in international fashion shows. After a show in Milan last year, Chinese designers have won much more attention from the international industry, and Chinese brands have become popular among international buyers. JD also attracted more brands from home and abroad.
In 2015, the online fashion market showed an upward swing, with more high-end brands replacing cheap products. JD.com started cooperation with international designers in 2014, and the designer channel went online in 2015. There are now more than one hundred designer brands on JD.com.
Xin Lijun, vice president of JD.com, said that Chinese consumers care more about quality than price, and are willing to spend more money on high-quality products. JD.com is trying to meet demand providing high-quality, customized products online.
