JD supports national poverty relief strategy
JD.com signed an agreement with the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development recently.
The two parties fight poverty together through industrial development, entrepreneurship, and increasing employment.
JD.com will use its e-commerce platform to help the national poverty relief strategy. The company will take a leading role in shouldering its social responsibility.
According to the agreement, JD will increase investment in poor areas during the thirteenth five-year plan. The investments will support the cold delivery chain to ensure that food products from poor areas can be delivered to cities. JD will choose 200 poor counties to support their e-commerce development, and combine company resources and business capability with poverty relief to help 2 million poor people out of poverty.
JD will also support the national poverty relief strategy through financial measures, agricultural investment, and charity work. JD will help stimulate consumption, brand marketing, technology and agricultural capital, and promote cooperation with agricultural producers.
