Broadcom, one of the world’s largest semiconductor providers, signed a series of memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chinese enterprises based in E-town to expand its presence and innovative development in China.

Broadcom, a FORTUNE Global 500 company, held an Asia media summit in Beijing Economic-technical Development Area last week, when the company and its Chinese partners expressed the will for further cooperation. StarTimes, a key cultural exporter headquartered in E-town that provides quality digital television services for Africa, signed an MOU with Broadcom to develop low-cost and quality set top box (STB) and high-end ultrahigh home gateway.

Broadcom, as a global innovation leader designs semiconductor solutions for the connected world, has kept a close eye on Chinese market.

Michael Hurlston, executive vice-president of the company, said “China’s electronic marketplace has ushered in the thrilling time that witnessed the country’s transformation from a global manufacturing base into a leader in design and development”.

He added that the company will seize the development opportunities to diversify its industries and cooperate with leaders of local firms in China.
