Guizhou launches favorable tourism deals
Southwestern Guizhou province has rolled out a series of travel discounts to attract travelers from the rest of the country.
Most of the scenic spots across Guizhou will offer 50 percent off the ticket prices, and tourists that drive to the province can enjoy half the price of the highway toll costs from June 15 to Sept 22, according to the provincial culture and tourism authority.
The move is designed to better introduce Guizhou's distinctive tourism resources to summer vacationers from far and wide, said Huang Changxiang, deputy director-general of the Guizhou culture and tourism authority.
Guizhou is known for being a summer getaway due to its mild temperature and abundant forest coverage. Local authorities have also encouraged Guizhou art businesses, such as those in silverwork and batik, to engage in tourism and help spice up the tourist experience.
