The Chinese delegation to the Rio Paralympics held their first adaptation training in the athletes’ village on Sept 1. The Rio Paralympics are the farthest-away Paralympics China has ever taken part in. They are also the first Paralympics held in South America. It’s winter in Brazil now, and there is a large temperature difference between Rio and China. It’s very important for athletes to adapt to the local weather and protect their bodies and competitive conditioning. The Chinese sitting-volleyball team arrived in Rio on August 22 to start adapting as early as possible.
