Aimee Mullins was born without fibula, and had her legs below the knees amputated when she was a child. She learned to walk and run with artificial legs, having twelve sets. She won first place in national and international running competitions, and broke a record at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympics Games. She has two degrees from Georgetown University in history and diplomacy. After graduation, she became a model.
