New Zealand Prime Minister John Key stopped off at the Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park on April 20 as part of his six-day official visit to China.

Acting Governor of Shaanxi province Hu Heping accepted the New Zealand delegation, before introducing them to the railway container center and Chang’an – an international freight train running between Xi’an and Central Asia.

The delegation then embarked on a tour of the comprehensive bonded zone to get a close look at e-commerce business there.

Trade conducted between the park and New Zealand companies accounted for 15 million dollars in 2015. Imported goods from New Zealand include dairy products, meat, wine, fruit, honey and olive oil.

Prime Minister John Key started his official visit to China on April 17 under the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang and spent three days in Shaanxi province.

Shaanxi and New Zealand have cooperated specifically with kiwi fruit plantations and dairy product processing. During the visit to the province, the two sides signed agreements to boost cooperation in areas of modern agriculture and cultural tourism.
