Firstly, Wuxi will vigorously advance intelligent industries. Intelligence is the core of the new scientific and technical revolution and industry transformation. Therefore, it is inevitable for the industrial upgrading of manufacturing in Wuxi.
Wuxi will guide local companies to apply information technologies to production and management, and foster demonstration enterprises in the traditional manufacturing industries, such as machinery, textiles, electronic information and metallurgy.
Wuxi will promote intelligent equipment application, including Internet of Things and industrial robots, and build intelligent manufacturing plants and digital workshops, with the goal to become a demonstration city of intelligent equipment application across the country.
Secondly, Wuxi will vigorously advance green industries. Wuxi witnesses relatively high pressure on its ecological environment, so it will endeavor to develop its low-carbon and green economy.
Wuxi will shut down outdated and excessive industrial capacity to reduce energy consumption per unit of GDP, energy consumption per unit added value and key industrial pollutants by 15 percent, 19 percent and 10 percent, respectively, by 2020.
Ninety percent of industrial parks above province level will be developed into eco-industrial parks.
By 2020, the land-use intensity will be strictly controlled within 33 percent. The total industrial output value per mu (0.07 hectares) will top 3 million yuan ($460,500) and that of the newly added land will top 5 million yuan.
Thirdly, Wuxi will vigorously advance green industries. Wuxi will guide local companies to extend services and drive the manufacturing industry to transform, relying on the city’s advantages.
In addition, it will develop producer service industries, such as third-party logistics, finance lease, e-commerce, information services and financial services.
Wuxi will also speed up the development of modern commerce, leisure tourism, culture creativity, and educational training to improve people's quality of life.
Fourthly, Wuxi will vigorously advance high-end industries. Only industry chains, value chains and market chains can improve the quality and efficiency of economic development.
Wuxi will prioritize seven advanced manufacturing industries, including new-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, energy conservation and environment protection, biological medicine, new energy automobiles, new materials, and high-end textile and garment industry to form industrial clusters.
It will also invest more in emerging fields, such as Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, integrated circuit and graphene to enhance industrial competitiveness.
Wuxi will cultivate influential brands and participate in formulating industrial standards, in order to establish a good image of "Wuxi quality".
