The word "maker" in China has come to mean someone who creates a new technical product or application. It is similar to the word "inventor".
The makers' exhibition hall at the 17th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF), which will open at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Nov 16, has drawn a lot of attention.
Hundreds of makers with their partners and others who have contributed to the inventions, eager to display their products, have signed up and reserved space for the exhibition. The most excellent ones will be put on highlighted display after several rounds of filtering.
The makers' exhibition hall, with a total area of more than 1,000 square meters, is on the second floor of the No 5 pavilion.
There will also be an innovation and entrepreneurship exhibition area for college students. A total of 45 maker teams from colleges and universities across the country will showcase their latest innovative products at the high-tech fair.
