The Fifth Willow Culture Festival opens on April 4, or Tomb-sweeping Day, in Liuyin Park in Dongcheng district, Beijing.
The festival is themed with "Promoting China's Traditional Culture through the Willow". Many experts, scholars, leaders, and volunteer teams from different fields attended the opening ceremony. Some foreign journalists and students from Africa are also invited to attend the opening ceremony.
The site, Liuyin Park, whose name means "willow shade", is one of Beijing's idyllic scenery parks. Many traditional Chinese activities are performed during the three-day event, such as a Han clothing show, willow tree planting, and a tea art show.
Students from Beijing Jiaotong University and other organizations dressed in Han clothing and gave us a vivid stage show by dancing, poetry readings, and playing the Chinese classical music. Some foreigners are also dressed in Han clothing to experience the Chinese culture.
