Tai'an was included in the Top 10 China's Happiest City list in an economic life survey released on Mar 2. The city was the only nominee from Shandong province to feature in the list, compiled by the CCTV Financial Channel.
The survey, named "Everyone's Voice, Everyone's Life", is the largest life survey in China and has been sponsored by the National Bureau of Statistics, China Post Group and CCTV Financial Channel since 2006.
Citizens in over 300 counties and 104 cities in 31 provinces and regions took part in the survey which has an effective response rate of 86.6 percent. Aiming to show the honest feelings and hopes of the people of China, the survey focuses on Chinese people's happiness, their feeling of life, economic conditions, consumption and investment expectation, and livelihood difficulties.
The Top 10 China's Happiest City list includes Tai'an, Shandong province; Hefei and Huangshan, Anhui province; Taiyuan, Shanxi province; Haikou, Hainan province; Changsha, Hunan province; Shijiazhuang, Hebei province; Hengshui, Hebei province; Liaoyang, Liaoning province; and Lianyungang, Jiangsu province.
