A sheltered entrance to the Suzhou North Railway Station has been set up to allow passengers to pass through ticket-checking gates in an orderly fashion in case of bad weather happens during the Spring Festival travel rush.
This year's travel rush has begun on Feb 4 and is expected to last until Mar 15. Suzhou North Railway Station is expected to handle 316,000 travelers during the 40-day period, 18 percent more than last year.
Meanwhile, the underground space of the station's south square has been turned into a temporary waiting hall with 300 seats, hot water supply and phone charging facilities.
