A peaceful Inner Mongolia

There was an anti-terrorism conference, in the city of Manzhouli on Aug 15, where Ma Ming, vice-chairman of the regional government pointed out that people need to be fully aware of the possibility that border areas can become a new channel for terrorists to enter the region and that border areas are likely to become a new battlefield for vicious forces. And he urged all personnel to be ready to combat terrorism.

The work is systematic and Inner Mongolia has more ideas for regional cooperation and resource sharing and continues to strengthen its police cooperation system. The local public security dept has built a China-Russia and China- Mongolia anti-terrorism system, which has played an important role in solving criminal cases, sharing information and ensuring the safety of major events. It also has anti-terrorism cooperation with surrounding provinces and cities and the police in the Northeast, in cooperation, have held 41 joint conferences since 2012 and have formed many inter-region cooperation agreements. Public security offices in the region have come up with innovations in prevention and control, site inspections and video surveillance, and have improved security management. They have increased the use of science and public security networking to cover crowded areas and major points of transportation and business and have offered consulting services and put police out on the street.

To date, more than 10 special anti-terrorism forces have been formed in Inner Mongolia, involving more than 1,000 people and the region has developed more than 60 municipal emergency teams with more than 11,000 members. There are also 854 special patrol teams and more than 84,000 people in group patrolling for the prevention of terrorism.
