Tianjin has improved its public transport system to accommodate large numbers of visitors and travelers to the city during the Summer Davos, a senior transport official of the city said.

Authorities have increased the inspections and maintenance of the city's subway system to ensure a safe and reliable service and to reduce equipment malfunctions, according to Li Guomin, deputy director of Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission.

"The city has also repaired and decorated its main roads to improve its transport capacity. Special and emergency lanes reserved for the representatives of Davos will also be launched during the meeting," Li said.

The local government also stepped up the crackdown on unlicensed taxicabs and illegal charges to maintain order in the passenger transport sector, Li said. "We have also enhanced safety checks on buses to ensure safe operations," he added.
